HOW MUCH ARE MY CARDS WORTH?
Have a look at the latest Beckett catalog or magazine, the "high" column. Here you'll see the maximum retail price, that any store would dare ask for in the high rent district, that the most sought after cards would command at auction. Few cards are worth these prices.
It's been said that an item is worth only what somebody is willing to pay, and here is what I've found. Almost any card can be bought for 50% of catalog value. Most dealers have very nice cards that have been in inventory too long and can be bought for 25% CV. At auctions, about half of the lots will sell for not more than 15% CV. Sell  cards to a dealer for cash and expect 10% CV. If my card is slightly damaged then I'm happy with 5% CV.This is what my cards are really worth.

CARDS IN POOR CONDITION
I bought 5000 cards at auction  few years ago. I looked through them and picked out every one in poor condition. These poor cards I tore up and threw away and figured the others really cost me 5% more.
I believe a poor condition card is worth 1% CV, so the ones I destroyed were worth next to nothing, even if they were from the 1960s! Now I have none such in my collection and you will get only nice ones from me in trade.

MY 1957 TO 1967 WANTLISTS
Let's trade some "vintage" Topps baseball cards. I have many available from 1960 to 1973 , all VG and better. They are mostly "commons" with a few minor stars , checklists and team cards. In trade , I'm really not picky about condition , just so the cards are VG Undamaged , no tears , folds , pinholes , glue , ink , stains , writing , water damage , etc.
